Porch decorated

I love my porch. This year was not good for porch sitting. Mr.T and Larry had a lot of stuff on the porch all summer.Stuff to use while siding the house. It is now cleaned off and decorated for fall. I thought I'd share a few pictures.

I love the Kale in the pumpkin.
The Witch is in!

I found this piece of fire brick covered with moss. It needed a special place Don't ya think?Have a good weekend. j.

Hooked on hexes 2

It is finished.I took it out on the porch for pictures and of course had to have a doll in the picture.

I really enjoyed making this little quilt. I cut 1 1/2 x 3 inch pieces of the same fabrics as the hexes for the binding. The hexes were hand quilted the backing machine quilted.  The weather is warm for this time of year. Record high predicted for tomorrow. Hope you all have a great week.j

Hooked on Hexes

I have been working on a couple of hex projects. The first one I made I shared in a previous post.
This one is a little more involved. All done by hand so far.
I enjoy every step of this. Some little quilts not so much. Maybe because this is more forgiving. It is backed and quilted. I will see if it needs a border. Not sure then will bind it. For now I need to do some house cleaning. Have a great weekend.j

A rescue of an Old quilt

I love finding old quilts.I wonder about the maker.I found this one at Carol Ann's 2nd hand store. It is not in great shape but found out it was owned by a Mrs Kline.I forgot her first name.I will get it from Carol. It is hand stitched and quilted. I bought it to make santa coats but may not be able to bring myself to cut it up. I may cut off the worst and rebind it as a lap quilt.

I finished the Oct. little quilt of the month from Kathleen Tracy's yahoo group. It was fun. I have been making the little hexagons all summer to be ready to make this quilt. I have a bag full of hexes done to make another doll quilt. Sam the scarecrow has been around for over 20 years. He got a new pumpkin to hold this year. He will be the door greeter .Good thing we went to see the fall color last weekend. It went from the 70's yesterday to the 40's this morning. I love the fall. Another week has flown by. Hope your day is good.j

Coachman Roadmaster

This is our motor home.We are gradually changing it to fit our needs. The dinette was just not comfortable to me. Mr.T didn't mind but this is a man that can sleep on the floor with no problems. While camping, over the weekend,we removed the table and booth to accommodate a pair of recliner swivel chairs. Can't wait to go again to get to use them. They are so comfortable. On one of their trips our friends found them at K-Mart. Just a perfect fit
Still finding what we need and what we really do not need.

We will be building a table to fit the space between the chairs. That will be a winter project. We will also cover those seat belt bolts.
Tom and Larry putting the chairs together. Mikki and I were their supervisors. The trees at the camp ground were mostly yellow and still a lot of green, but pretty anyway. Fall is the best camping time. Warm days cool nights. Hope to get in several more camp weekends before the snow and really cold weather.j

Fall beauty

We were camping this past weekend.  It weather perfect.
We took a drive with friends to see the  colors in the Iowa greenbelt.Larry drove and was so good to stop when I said stop! hahaha. They were all very patient with my picture taking. I do get a little carried away. Even the flowering weeds at the side of the road were worth a picture.

We then drove thru Foster Park in Iowa Falls. The river bank was very bright with color. This is looking to the north of  Foster parkThe shelter house is a place I spent many family reunions. Have a great week.j
